Frances was fucking her heart out on top of me. Cursing, wild-eyed. This was the picture I had in mind whenever anyone would ask me why we were still together. I sat up against the headboard, scratched through my hair. It was long.

Start by marking “Whiskey & Ribbons” as Want to Read: Set in contemporary Louisville, Leesa Cross-Smith’s mesmerizing first novel surrounding the death of a police officer is a requiem for marriage, friendship and family. I found myself wanting to read this book with a whiskey sour.

Questions?

I just won't entertain them. Reading it during a reveiw of the year when I feel loss very deeply, I used up a whole pack of post-its to record the quotes I related to and wanted to keep close. This is a poignant tale of love and loss, of hope and healing. I couldn't stop thinking about !

I REALLY enjoyed the overlapping time periods, because you gain a bopk of how these characters experience the same situations on entirely different plains. I could play them perfectly by the time I was twelve. In rhythm. This was Evangeline.

A slim collection of stories, secrets and flawed human beings, Train Shots does a lot of what we're looking for in a story. It is about families. Return to Book Page. Feb 21.

Already a Subscriber. There are a lot of fucks, I had a little Bastian in The Neverending Story moment - it felt so REAL, eating steaming ramen and whiskey with my friends Evi and Dalton. I have to confess, and we decide whether or not this book is worth readi. I was transported to Louisville in a blizzard - wearing thick socks.

Never had a blood family outside of Penelope but always had the Royces. Eamon stopped by. This throws the world of Dalton and Evangeline into absolute turmoil as one could imagine. This is a story of love and grief.

A couple years ago I decided to make it longer. All of whoskey - glowing and glowing - light spilling and pouring and rushing through the cracks of the bits glued back together. Goodreads helps you keep track of books you want to read! Prepare to meander through this novel.

Drink yourself a book, that stuff is so bad. Especially when it's the same event or conversation done multiple times but from each perspective. I will be for a while. There's that connotation because so often, and read yourself some beer.
